I’m trying to go down in carbs a bit, from the classic zone 40% to a 30%. So far (two whole whopping days) I feel fine, have good energy, but I am experiencing mad carb cravings.
All in all, I’m very torn on the whole low-carb thing.
On the one hand it seems a lot easier to lose weight, gain muscle and feel healthy on this life style, on the other hand you’re eating in way that’s not sustainable, either to the environment (if you buy cheap meat and dairy from the bio-industry), or to yourself (if you buy grass-fed beef, and i for one don’t have that kind of body). I’m convinced i would be more earth-friendly as a vegetarian, but maintaining my current protein intake would be a lot more work then, and I’m not ready for that.
So I feel good but guilty. Isn’t that weird? There’s something to think about if you thought that if only you would eat healthy, you’d never have to feel guilty again ;)
My meals today
Breakfast: Cottage cheese with some apple, flax seed and wheat bran
Lunch: a chicken and steamed veggies wrap with curry yoghurt dressing
Dinner: Stir-fried coconut beef strips with string beans
Post WO: Shake with frozen berries, soy milk, yogurt, protein powder
